How to start making AI videos with Seedance from your phone

A short beginner guide. What Seedance and Jimeng AI are, what you need, and how to write clear video prompts so your results look polished.

Short videos are now the main way people discover products and content. The problem is that not everyone has a camera, a studio or time to film every day. This is where AI video tools like Seedance help: you write a sentence, the AI creates a clip.

This article is for you if you have never tried it. We focus on the basics that matter most, so your first video does not look "off".

What Seedance and Jimeng AI are

Seedance is an AI video generation model. You can use it through the Jimeng AI app, which can be installed on an Android phone. There are two main ways to create a video:

  1. Text to video. You describe a scene, and the AI generates a clip from that description.
  2. Image to video. You upload a photo (for example a product shot or a character), and the AI animates it into a clip.

The second method is usually easier to control, because the AI already has a reference for the look you want.

What you need

  • An Android phone with enough free storage
  • An account to sign in to the app (installation has a few steps to follow)
  • A clear video idea: one scene, one message

You do not need a powerful computer or expensive editing software to start.

A good prompt covers six things

The most common beginner mistake is a prompt that is too short, such as "cat running". The AI has to guess everything else, so the result is random.

Try to make sure your prompt answers these six questions:

  1. Subject. Who or what is in the scene?
  2. Action. What is the subject doing?
  3. Location. Where does the scene take place?
  4. Camera. Close or wide? Moving or still?
  5. Lighting. Daylight, dusk, neon, studio light?
  6. Style. Cinematic, realistic, cartoon, product ad?

Compare these two prompts:

Cat running.

An orange cat trotting along a cobblestone street in an old town, low camera following from behind, warm late afternoon sunlight, cinematic style.

The second prompt gives the AI clear direction, so the result is more consistent and closer to what you imagined.

Keeping a character consistent

If you want a video series with the same character, do not rely on text alone. Prepare reference images of the character from a few angles, and use the same images every time. Do the same for locations. This helps the AI keep the character and setting looking the same from one clip to the next.

Start small

For your first week, try these goals:

  • Create 5 short clips with the same subject
  • Change only one thing each time (for example the lighting) and notice the difference
  • Save prompts that work in a note so you can reuse them

This way you learn what the AI understands, instead of trying things at random.
