Three pillars\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\u003Cp>Semarak AI Malaysia rests on three pillars. AI Negara for the public sector, AI Ekonomi for businesses, and AI Rakyat for communities. Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani said the program builds on AWS's RM29.2 billion investment commitment to Malaysia through 2038.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>AWS country manager for Malaysia, Pakistan and Brunei, Hussein Mohd Ali, described the program as a step toward turning Malaysia from a consumer of AI technology into a developer and exporter of AI solutions, talent and intellectual property.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Ch2>2. Amazon Quick for 445,000 officers\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\u003Cp>Under AI Negara, AWS is investing to give up to 445,000 government officers access to Amazon Quick, its AI assistant for work. Access runs through the National Digital Department's AI-as-a-Service platform.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The tool is expected to help civil servants analyse procurement data, synthesise policy research across agencies and surface patterns in large datasets. The Edge Malaysia reports that AWS did not disclose the investment amount or the rollout timeline.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Ch2>3. GovHub built on Kiro\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\u003Cp>GovTech Malaysia, under the Ministry of Digital, is also launching GovHub, powered by AWS's AI coding tool Kiro. Kiro turns developer prompts into structured specifications covering requirements, design and implementation before writing code.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The phase one pilot starts with 500 developers in 2026, targeting 4,000 developers by 2028.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Ch2>4. What SMEs and software firms get\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\u003Cp>Under AI Ekonomi, AWS is working with GD XCHANGE, the solutions arm of GDEX Bhd, and distributor VSTECS Bhd to give eligible SMEs six months of complimentary access to Quick and Kiro after an AI readiness assessment. The target is 10,000 SMEs by 2028.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>AWS is also developing local software talent. In Sarawak, more than 20 software companies have graduated from the pilot cohort of the Sarawak SaaS Accelerator, a collaboration between AWS and the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Ch2>5. Students and the growth numbers\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\u003Cp>Under AI Rakyat, more than 3,000 polytechnic and community college students and lecturers took part in the POLYCC Agentic AI League 2026, a Malaysia Book of Records milestone for the largest participation in an agentic AI competition. AWS has also adopted Sekolah Kebangsaan Datuk Keramat (1) in Kuala Lumpur under the Sekolah Angkat Madani program.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Bernama reports Johari estimated the RM29.2 billion AWS investment will contribute RM57.3 billion to GDP and support more than 3,500 job opportunities per year at local companies.
